The Coon Lake Improvement Association (CLIA) is helping kick off the 2026 boating season with a focus on sustainability, hosting a free public boat wrap recycling event in partnership with Wrap Recycle Right.
Taking place on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coon Lake Boat Access in East Bethel, MN—the event offers boaters a simple, no-cost way to responsibly dispose of used plastic wrap. Open to the public, the collection accepts clean, dry boat wrap from anywhere in Minnesota, with no appointment required.
As boats across the region are unwrapped for spring, this initiative provides an important alternative to landfill disposal—helping keep plastic waste out of the environment and supporting cleaner lakes. Organized by CLIA volunteers, the event reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to protecting local waterways and promoting responsible lake stewardship.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, drop off materials, and connect with others who share an interest in preserving Minnesota’s lakes. By making recycling more accessible, CLIA continues to play a key role in building a more sustainable boating community.
